Library Marketing: Some Important Bibliographies

I have got published a paper 'Bibliographical literature on LIS marketing: a review' in Annals of Library and Information Studies. The paper aims at the following:
- To bring out different bibliographies and reviews on LIS marketing at one place;
- To illustrate types of sources cited in these bibliographies; and
- To underline concepts used in bibliographies underlining the scope of the LIS marketing.

Important bibliographies discussed are available online, may be of interest to you include: Marketing of library and information products and services: a select bibliography is a contribution made to a special issue of the DESIDOC Bulletin on the theme information marketing in 1998. A detailed bibliography is given as last item in the issue; the bibliography comprising 289 entries is arranged alphabetically by author. Majority of the items were published during the 1990s but 1980s and 1970s are also represented. Some non-library literature is also included. Marketing, fee and volunteers: A Selective bibliography (ALIC bibliography no.7) lists 118 items that were published during 1979 to 1992. Author/sponsor and subject indexes are provided at the end. Digitized copy of the bibliography is made available by ERIC. Marketing and advocacy resource bibliography is compiled by Roger Garren, Sharon Lenius, and Michele Masias, sponsored by FLICC/FEDLINK Marketing Advocacy Sub-committee of Library of Congress. It has in all 184 items arranged subject and source wise. It covers literature published during 2002-2007. Marketing for Libraries and Information Centres: A Selective Annotated Bibliography. Occasional Papers in Bibliography and Libraries; 21 was prepared by Victoria University Wellington (Australia) to illustrate type and range of material available on marketing management, a tool that can help library manager. It covers 66 items published during 1980-1990.

Marketing your library, outreach, public relations: an annotated selective bibliography, was prepared for the SLA's Conference in 1990. It has 84 items published during 1980-1990, it is arranged subject-wise.Marketing Library Resources: An Annotated Bibliography was edited by Daria Decooman and published by Elsevier as a source of inspiration of ideas and resource for working librarians. It covers 101 items published during 1998-2005. Library Marketing into the 21st Century: A selected annotated bibliography was prepared for the use of trainees taking workshop and published by American Association of Law librarians. It has 62 items published during 1995 and 2003 arranged alphabetical by source.

'Marketing Libraries: An annotated bibliography' was prepared as a project on the partial fulfillment of the Master degree in Information Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. It has 44 annotations divided into various themes. It gives exhaustive annotation of the work included. Library Marketing Research Trends 1988-99 was prepared by Marti Cox for the use by students taking the ‘Creating Change in Challenging Times’ Marketing Workshop during spring of 2000 by the Colorado Library Marketing Council. It has 26 reference (some non library literature) includes journal articles, book, encyclopedic paper, and review of literature. It is alphabetically arranged by surname of author. Most literature covered in the bibliography was published form USA.

Marketing: the power of ten was developed at the University of Illinois at Urbana-campaign to offer resource on different aspects offering annotations to the existing literature. It has 40 items arranged subject wise. Marketing libraries and information centers remained a very poplar website for a very long time, which was developed by Sheila Webber of University of Sheffield (U.K). This website requires updating. Marketing our libraries gives a listing of largest number of source on the area mostly covered during 2003-2005, mostly web resource. Marketing Treasures Resources give link to useful web resources developed by a trainer and consultant Chris Olson. It has 60 resources arrange subject wise. Other bibligraphies include Marketing and public relations, Marketing resources for libraries, A selection of additional marketing resources and Marketing and PR
